After a long seven-year hiatus, Northern Irish rockers The Answer are set to make a spectacular and long-awaited return with a brand-new studio album scheduled for release on St. Patricks day, March 17th, 2023.
Titled ‘Sundowners’, this latest album has been produced and mixed by rising British rock producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Bury Tomorrow) and will be supported by a run of limited capacity 17 date UK and European album launch shows.
The album was recorded in April 2023 at Middlefarm studios, Devon and was the first time
the band had been together in a studio since 2015.
Says lead singer Cormac Neeson, “We’ve been through a lot as a band, toured the world, made six great records we’re all proud of, and always done our best to make honest and timeless music that connects with rock and music fans in general. After six albums and a lot of road miles we felt we needed to step back from it all and reset. Whilst that wasn’t an easy decision, with retrospect it’s possibly the best decision we’ve ever made because after seven years away we all came back fired up and the end result is an album we’ve been waiting to make our whole lives…full of good time rock n roll and positive energy created by four brothers who quite frankly just really missed each other. We’re back and we’re ready to bring our best album ever to you!”
In 2019, long time super fan and international independent hard rock label Golden Robot Records founder, Mark Alexander-Erber, fulfilled a life-long ambition by signing The Answer to his label to secure a brand new 7th studio album, due for release in 2023; a record which, in the words of Alexander-Erber will be The Answer’s “greatest balls out straight ahead rock album ever’, eclipsing the debut of Rise for power, songs and sheer attitude. To say I am excited is an understatement, for me it’s a life-long ambition and privilege to work with these guys”
The album will be released by Golden Robot Records Pty and by licensee 7Hz Productions (ADA) in the UK & Europe. The release will come in several formats including a Cd Gatefold Digi sleeve, Gatefold 12” 180g black vinyl, 2 x 12” colour vinyl exclusives, a 12” fan collectible Picture Disk, Digital and various limited retail exclusive versions with HMV, Rough Trade, Crash and Assai Records.
The band’s first single of the album “Blood Brother” has gone straight on to the Planet Rock Radio A-List in the UK and onto daytime radio on Star FM Berlin and Star FM Nuremburg. Watch video here – Blood Brother Video
The Answer’s first comeback live show since 2017 will take place as “special guests” at this year’s Planet Rockstock festival, after which the band will promote their new album release with a run of limited capacity album launch shows, tour dates as follows:

After a seven-year hiatus, Irish rockers The Answer are set to make their long-awaited and highly anticipated return with an exclusive and sole 2022 comeback performance at this year’s Planet Rockstock festival, Dec 3rd.
Not only that but they are thrilled to announce a new album has been recorded and is due for release in 2023, produced by rising British rock producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Bury Tomorrow) at the helm. The first single from the new record will precede their Rockstock performance and will give fans their first taster of the sheer dynamism imbued in the new music.
With over 300,000 catalogue album sales under their belt and considered one of the forebearers of what is now colloquially known as the New Wave Of Classic Rock, The Answer are now set to return in 2023 with a triumphant 7th album which they believe is, without doubt, their best yet.
]]>NEIL DAVIDGE SCORES “EARTH MOODS” FOR DISNEY+
Premieres on April 16
Disney+ has just released the first trailer for the ultra-relaxing series Earth Moods. The new show, which is a part of Disney’s National Geographic property, will have five episodes that are sure to calm your nerves, all while capturing the beauty of planet Earth. Each episode will cover a different theme, not just a particular landscape of the world. The five episodes are titled “Frozen Calm,” “Night Lights,” “Tropical Serenity,” “Desert Solitude” and “Peaceful Patterns.”
The series will have no narration whatsoever, just drone footage of the beautiful planet we occupy with calming music in the background. The video gives short clips of some of the footage from the series, which includes vast glaciers, pristine beaches, and snowcapped mountaintops. Earth Moods will also take a look at the beauty which can be found in man-made landscapes like nighttime city skylines and eagle-eye views of sports stadiums.
The trailer encourages the viewers to “see,” “hear,” and “feel” the rhythm of the Earth. If this new clip is any indication of what’s to come in the series, it’s serenity on a whole other level. It’s the perfect option for what to put on your TV when you have guests over as background noise, or to unwind while drinking a glass of wine after you suffered eight hours in a 5X5 cubicle.
Number 1 UK Rock Album Chart!
First rock act debut album in UK Top 20 since Greta Van Fleet 2018 and the first British rock act debut album Top 20 and #1 UK rock chart since Royal Blood 2014!
“Glasgow’s gonna-be’s Mason Hill introduce the debut album set to reignite the rock scene in 2021!” (Louder)
“The music really does the talking. Powered by enough energy to light up the national grid!” (Metal Hammer)
“Music supercharged by adversity. The long awaited, cathartic full length debut” (Kerrang!)
Energetic, classy young hard rocker’s debut. It’s been worth the wait!”
(Classic Rock Magazine)
Glaswegian rockers, Mason Hill, have stormed into the UK national album chart at number 19, achieving a coveted top 20 album position with their debut record Against The Wall. The long awaited album, which has received critical acclaim from both media and fans alike, is also presently number 1 in the UK rock album chart. It is the first time a rock band has debuted with their album in the UK Top 20 since Greta Van Fleet in 2018 and also the first time a British rock act have debuted with their album in the UK Top 20 and # 1 in the UK rock album chart since Royal Blood and Lonely The Brave back in 2014!
It is an incredible achievement for new British rock band, starting from an almost zero sales base and during a pandemic when there has been no traditional retail, no live shows or touring opportunities. The innovative marketing campaign run by both 7Hz Productions (ADA) and the band involved a six month fan building initiative utilising the band social platforms, streaming performances, virtual ‘in store’ launch events, dark ad audience building and strategic media take over promotions. Coupled with very positive press reviews, online reviews, regional radio support and four Planet Rock playlist additions, the band’s new album has connected musically with rock fans resulting in a surge of sales.
It is not only UK fans who have taken to the record, in Germany the band have seen a huge uplift in airplay where they are presently trending in the top 15 German rock airplay charts with their single D.N.A and are also top 10 in the Heavy 1 French radio chart.

Directed by Stella Corradi and written by Stephen Thompson, the film is scored by Leland Orginals’ most recent signing, Neil Davidge.
You can watch the trailer below:
]]>As a co-writer, producer and sonic pioneer of the lauded Massive Attack albums Mezzanine, 100th Window and Heligoland, Bristol’s Neil Davidge has birthed some of the most arresting and innovative sounds on the record, helping to script and define Massive Attack’s classic and critically acclaimed cinematic sound.
He has simultaneously forged his career as a hugely respected film composer scoring a wealth of lauded features, including his collaboration with Robert Del Naja for Louis Letterier & Luc Beeson’s Unleashed, Paul McGuigan’s Push and Tia Lessin & Carl Deal’s award-winning documentary Trouble The Water. He has also scored the worldwide best-selling computer game, Microsoft’s Halo 4, and recent headline TV drama such as BBC / Hulu’s Hard Sun and the Jez Butterworth’s blockbuster Britannia I & II for Sky / Amazon Studios.
Managing Director of Leland Originals, Gary Downing, says “From his seminal collaborations with Massive Attack through to his recent scores on the likes of Britannia and 8 Days: To The Moon & Back, Neil is an instinctive musical storyteller who couples huge themes with razor-sharp production. We are thrilled that he has joined the roster, and are incredibly proud to be representing Neil.”
Launched in 2016, Leland Originals is an independent agency representing composers and songwriters for film, TV, advertising and new media. They work closely with filmmakers to bring to their productions both established composers, and the most promising, burgeoning talent currently emerging from a diversity of backgrounds. Their composer roster includes Tom Hodge (McMafia, Rise of the Nazis), Peter Gregson (Blackbird, A Little Chaos), Frank Ilfman (Ghost Stories, Bad Wolves) and Jessica Dannheisser (The Queen & I, Siblings). Its sister company, Leland Music, are one of the UK’s leading music supervision agencies, sourcing, producing, developing, creating and licensing music for film, TV, advertising and brands. Founded in 2005, the team are known for their supervision work on the hugely popular John Lewis Christmas campaigns, Channel 4’s Paralympics trailers and more recently the Netflix / Cowboy Films series Top Boy.
Neil is presently composing original scores for the forthcoming BBC / Left Bank Pictures Windrush drama, Sitting In Limbo, as well as a new sports documentary series for Amazon Studios.
]]>There are clear inspirations used by Davidge throughout the score to permeate different moments of the mission. From the Saturn V’s lift-off to the eventual moon landing itself, we can hear elements of Hans Zimmer’s Dunkirk and Interstellar soundtracks as well as hints of Davidge’s own work on Halo 4.
Throughout the film, the music allows for a constant build of anticipation for this moment that changed the face of history but it remains understated enough to allow the pictures on the screen and the archive radio communication do most of the storytelling.
The bonafide highlight of the score is, without doubt, the moon landing itself where we can hear an organ breathe into life in a moment that could be dragged straight out of the score from Interstellar.
Davidge manages to set the tone of the programme with his understated score but without drowning out the other elements of the film as some other composers fall victim to.
